LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A group of travelers have broken down, and are staying in the Target parking lot. The group travels the country in a painted white school bus they call home. Their purpose is to serve food to the homeless, and street kids. The group is made up of kids who, at one point, lived on the streets, and others who just want to give back. The group consists of 33 people, 20 dogs, 3 cats, and 8 new born puppies. All of them pile onto the bus and travel 365 days out if the year.

"I show them that there's a better way to do things. You don't have to be out there breaking the law. You don't have to be out there living on the edge," said bus owner, Davis King.

The group remains in the Target parking lot while they wait for parts and a mechanic. The group operates completely off of donations for the food they serve, and the clothing they wear.
