JENNINGS, LA (KPLC-TV) – The Louisiana Veterans Business Outreach Center opened its doors today.

The office will assist veterans who are interested in exploring and developing their entrepreneurial skills, whether through outreach, assessment, counseling or technical training.

"[If] they want to do something different with their lives, go into business, take advantage of an opportunity that they may have missed while they were on active duty defending the nation" said Charles Achane, Commander-in-Chief of the LVBOC. "They can come back, sit down and we can help them with their business plan. We can help them with job assistance."

The program was made possible through a grant secured by Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Veterans who are interested can either stop by the office, located at 107 S. Lake Arthur Ave., Suite 7, in Jennings or they can call (337)824-3900.
