OAKDALE, LA (KPLC) - On Tuesday morning, troopers with the Louisiana State Police responded to the Oakdale location of the Office of Motor Vehicles after receiving a report of an individual attempting to obtain a state-issued ID card using documents that appeared to be fake.
When troopers arrived, they met with 41-year-old Efrain Villarreal of Mexico.
Troopers say they determined the documents were fraudulent and questioned Villarreal. Authorities say he admitted to entering the United States illegally. He also said he purchased the fraudulent documents from someone in Houston, Texas.
Villarreal was arrested by State Police for giving false information regarding presence in United States to obtain government identification, unlawful possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes and filing and maintaining false public records.
Villarreal was transported to the Allen Parish Correctional Center and was booked.
