Elderly man severely beaten

By David Bray - email

LAKE CHARLES, LA(KPLC) - An elderly man remains hospitalized after being beaten unconscious on Halloween.

The Calcasieu Sheriff's Office says the 80-year-old man was showing a rental trailer to possible renters at a trailer park on South Goodman Road in Lake Charles when the attack happened.

Investigators say the attacker or attackers stole money then fled.

CPSO detectives recently received information leading to two cars of interest, a light gold Nissan Stanza, no license plate, and no yellow turn signals on the rear of the car.  The other car appears to be a 4 door maroon Buick that was occupied by two black men.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding these cars and their owners.  If anyone has any information please call CPSO Detective Jason Gertz at 491-3724 or Crimestoppers at 439-2222.
