BATON ROUGE, LA (KPLC) - The LSU Tigers are still alive for the S-E-C championship, knocking off defending National Champions Alabama Crimson Tide, 24-21.

The play of the game was probably in the 4th quarter, LSU was down 14-13 and facing a 4th and 1.  The Tigers pitched the ball to Stevan Ridley who gave the ball to D'Angelo Peterson on an end around.  Peterson got the first and then some, and made it first and goal from the three for the Bayou Bengals.

Quarterback Jordan Jefferson had the best game of the year going 10-13 for 141 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

The win puts LSU right behind Auburn in the S-E-C Western Standings.  Even if LSU wins out and Auburn loses to Alabama, Auburn would still be the higher seed in the S-E-C West because they beat LSU.

The Bayou Bengals will host Louisiana-Monroe for homecoming next Saturday night, at Tiger Stadium.
