Anti-Drug Task Force makes pot bust on I-10

The following is a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Lake Charles, LA – At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, a detective with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 near mile marker 26 in Westlake.  During the traffic stop the detective observed indicators of criminal activity and asked to search the car.  During a consensual search of the car the detective recovered approximately 39 pounds of marijuana in a trash bag on the back seat with a street value of $20,000.

The driver, Zachary O. Ginn, 27, of Tylertown, MS, and his passenger Bernard T. Forrest, 29, of Bogalusa, were both arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Judge Kent Savoie set their bonds at $15,000 each.
