AUBURN, AL (KPLC) - The LSU Tigers went into Auburn looking to get respect from the critics who believe they are the most overrated undefeated team.  But against the undefeated Auburn Tigers, the Bayou Bengals fell a little short, losing 24-17.

Auburn Heisman candidate quarterback Cam Newton had a stellar performance, going 10-16 for 86 passing yards while rushing 28 times for 217 yards and 2 touchdowns.

For LSU, wide receiver Reuben Randle had probably his best performance of the season with 6 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.

LSU will be on a bye week next week, and then they will take on defending National Champs Alabama Crimson Tide on November 6, in Tiger Stadium.
