Oakdale police officer accused of having sex with juvenile

OAKDALE, LA (KPLC) - An Oakdale police officer was arrested on Friday and charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile and malfeasance in office.

The Louisiana State Police investigated a complaint that alleged 25-year-old Robert Tillis was sexually involved with a 15-year-old female while he was employed as an officer with the Oakdale Police Department.

LSP detectives say they were able to obtain evidence that indicated Tillis engaged in sexual relations with the 15-year-old on multiple occasions between the months of June 2008 and December 2008.

Because of the evidence, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Tillis.

Tillis turned himself in to detectives at the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office on Friday. He was placed under arrest and was booked into the Allen Parish Jail on felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and malfeasance in office charges.
