McNeese/LSU Preview

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - This Saturday's showdown between the McNeese Cowboys and LSU Tigers will be the first time both schools have ever met on the football field.

Both have played each other often in other sports.  In 2010 the Tigers and Pokes have met in four other sports.  Here's a breakdown of how those games have gone for McNeese:

Baseball – Loss 2-1

Basketball (M) – Loss 83-60

Soccer (W) – Loss 2-0

Softball – Loss 7-2, Win 3-0

McNeese and LSU are also the two winningest programs in the state of Louisiana since the year 2000.  Not only have they been successful this decade, but since each has been playing football.  Here's a breakdown of each school's storied football histories:

McNeese State

- 14 FCS playoff appearances

The Pokes bring a 2-3 record this season into Tiger Stadium, while LSU is 6-0 after beating Florida in the final seconds last week.

Kick-off for the game is set for 6:00.
