LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A drive-by shooting lands four Lake Charles women in jail. Arrested were Paris Williams, Elizabeth Lefleur, Latoya Mayne, and Tahaunii Zeno.
Police were called Saturday to the 400 block of North Simmons Street in reference to shots fired. Not long after a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle was was pulled over. All four women inside the vehicle were arrested on a charge of assault by drive-by shooting. Investigators believe the drive by shooting was not random and the result of an ongoing domestic dispute between the two parties.
Police say a baby and three other people were in the vicinity of the shooting. No one was hurt. Police also say they have recovered what they believe to be the gun used in the shooting.
At last check all of the women remain behind bars with the exception of Zeno who was released on her own recognizance by Judge Wilford Carter.
