LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Signs of support, flowers, and even gifts line the street in front of Moss Bluff Elementary, after a crossing guard was hit and killed by a car, when the driver did not see him in the road. Two men were hit. Officials said 91 year old Wallace Berwick of Iowa was driving in the school zone when he did not see the two crossing guards on the road. 73 year old Carl Edwards suffered a broken arm, while 70 year old Roland Parker was pronounced dead at the hospital.

"They get our children across the road safely, and we just want them to know that we appreciate them, and that we still support them," said one parent.
