HOLLY BEACH, LA (KPLC) - Over 100 students from St. Margaret Catholic School and Conception Cathedral School in Lake Charles helped restore the eroding shoreline along Peveto Woods Wildlife Sanctuary in Cameron Parish.

The students helped plant 5000 plugs of sand dune grass which will help prevent erosion.

It was part of the Youth Wetlands project, in partnership with the LSU AgCenter. The sanctuary is located along Little Florida Beach, which provides protection from hurricanes and is a major stop-over for migrating birds.
