LAKE CHARLES, LA. (KPLC) -Lee Roy Williams Junior is jailed in Baton Rouge tonight.  He's not charged in the killings but he is being held on a $5 million material witness bond.

It was late in the afternoon when Calcasieu Deputies received word authorities in Baton Rouge had located the man they believed to be 52 year old Lee Roy Williams. And sure enough Williams was in that Blue Ford Explorer and wasn't going to be taken into custody without incident.

Sheriff Tony Mancuso called a news conference to let people know they had him---

Williams allegedly tried to run down a deputy sheriff in Baton Rouge...

And Mancuso says it appears Williams may have wanted to have it all end there...

Details are still developing but sketchy but Mancuso says it was information from an observant Iowa police officer that may have led them to Williams...

Williams is under arrest in Baton Rouge for attempted murder of a sheriff's deputy and also as a material witness in the quadruple murders for which bond is set at five million dollars.

Officials at the Calcasieu District Attorney's Office say East Baton Rouge officials confirm three men were in the Ford Explorer with Williams when it was shut down. However-- those men are not from Lake Charles and it's not known if they have any connection to the murders.
