VINTON, LA. (KPLC) - New developments tonight in the fight over a liquor license for an adult entertain club near Vinton.

It appears opponents will have no voice on whether a state liquor license is issued.

State Representative Mike Danahay says the deadline has passed for citizens to oppose a state liquor license for the Gentlemen Club near Vinton.

Officials with the State Office of Alcohol and Tobacco control say Vinton Golf and Travel applied for a state license on June 28th and the public had only 35 days after that to file a petition of opposition.

The issue comes up before Calcasieu Police Jurors Thursday night when jurors are expected to approve a local license because they've been ordered by a judge to do so. That's because the company meets all the requirements for a license.

The state is expected to issue a license after the local license is approved.
