LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - It was all about the children Saturday night at the Lake Charles Civic Center where more than 400 people showed up to help raise money for the Lake Charles Children's Museum. The museum's annual fundraiser included silent and live auctions.
One of the big ticket items auctioned off were an original Eddie Mormon painting of the Historic City Hall building. There were also good eats on hand for those making contributions to help continue the services at the Children's Museum.
"Well I can't imagine anything more important than investing in our children and that is what a contribution to the Children's Museum does. It invests in our children and that's the future," said Marcy Misik, Lake Charles Children's Museum Board Member.
This year organizers sold more than 400 tickets to the beach-themed event. All proceeds will go to continue renovations after the fire that destroyed much of the museum more than a year ago.
