Tractor accident kills Elton man

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A bizarre accident took the life of an Elton man Thursday evening.

The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office says around 5:40pm, a man was showing a co-worker some farm implements he was selling. It was then that the tractor started in gear and rolled over one of the men several times.

Medical personnel was called to the scene and were able to stop the tractor. But 60-year-old Gary Wayne Langley of Elton was pronounced dead at the scene.

    A man is jailed today after a shooting in Allen Parish this morning, according to the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office website. Lawrence Soileau Jr. was arrested and charged with aggravated second-degree battery and aggravated assault with a firearm.
