Vinton man arrested for failure to register

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Authorities with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a Vinton man on Wednesday and charged him with failure to register as a sex offender.

Officials were conducting address verifications on current registered sex offenders on August 17 when they learned 45-year-old Randy King of Vinton had moved without notifying authorities. Offenders are required by law to notify authorities within three days of a move.

An investigation revealed that King had moved from the motel where he was living approximately one month ago and had not returned.

On Wednesday, King was arrested at his place of employment and was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center where he was charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

His bond was set at $150,000.
