Convicted sex offender arrested on new charges

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A Lake Charles man was arrested on Wednesday after authorities allegedly found several inappropriate images located on his computers.

Local authorities conducted compliance checks of convicted sex offenders on Wednesday. While doing so, they arrested 50-year-old Curtis Cochran.

An official with the Lake Charles Police Department says investigators found several inappropriate images of underage females located on Cochran's computers.

Authorities also say they found several digital photographs of young girls they believe were taken in public without their parents' consent or knowledge. Those pictures were reportedly taken at several parks in the southwest Louisiana area.

Cochran was originally convicted back in 1997 of aggravated oral sexual battery.
