LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) The Lake Charles City Council Wednesday night approved a plan to give city court a new home. The plan would move the court to a new building located at the site of the Sears Automotive building on Mill Street. Mayor Randy Roach says the project will cost between $4.5 million and $4.9 million. The Calcasieu Parish Home Mortgage Trust Authority will put up $500,000 and issue bonds up to $3 million. The mayor says the city court is working with other agencies to secure the rest of the funding.
