New uniforms for the Cowboys

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) – The Cowboys unveiled new uniforms to fans at their second annual Kickoff Classic golf tournament.

The pokes came dressed to impress in blue and gold. In the past the Cowboys sported Russell Athletic uniforms, but now they are exclusively Under Armour. Another big change is now the back of the pokes uniforms reads "McNeese", instead of "Cowboys". Also, the gold trim that lined the old uniform is not on the new version.

The Kickoff Classic helps to raise money for the MSU football program, and the pokes drew out a good crowd to unveil their new uniforms to.

Head Coach Matt Viator stated, "It's fantastic, we've got a great mix of alum, boosters, former players, that played for the Cowboys. It's a great turnout, we're actually more than full and that's a great thing.

"We appreciate them [the players] coming out, this is actually their time off. We give them about a week, week and a half off for their voluntary workouts and kind of tell them all to go home for a little while, but we appreciate the guys that are here in town that came out to help us out."
