LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man on Tuesday after he supposedly confirmed allegations involving a complaint made about sexually inappropriate actions with a juvenile that happened back in 1982.

On July 19, officials received a complaint regarding 68-year-old John Weatherall of Lake Charles.

An investigation revealed that Weatherall allegedly touched a 16-year-old minor in a sexually inappropriate manner back in 1982.

According to authorities, Weatherall was questioned by detectives on Tuesday and he confirmed some of the allegations.

Weatherall was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. His bond was set at $15,000.

Officials say that prior to 2005, a victim had 10 years after their 18th birthday to report a sexual crime.  In 2005, the law was changed and the victim now has 30 years after their 18th birthday to report a sexual crime.
