LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Acting on a tip, authorities surrounded a home on Dixy Drive around noon on Wednesday and were able to arrest the suspect wanted in an early morning murder.

22-year-old Coby Quinton Ceaser was arrested Wednesday afternoon just before 12:30 p.m. after authorities surrounded a home on the same road that the murder took place.

"Acting on some reliable information our Special Response Team was able to go in the backdoor and take Coby Ceaser into custody," said Cpl. Jeff Keenum with Lake Charles Police. "Our officers did what they are very good at doing and handled this situation and no one was hurt. Everyone goes home safe - thank goodness."

Police say that 41-year-old Patrick Myles was fatally shot around midnight early on Wednesday morning. Their investigation labeled Ceaser as the primary suspect in the shooting. According to witnesses Myles was Ceaser's ex-stepfather.

A second degree murder arrest warrant for Ceaser with a bond of $200,000 was obtained earlier in the day.
