MERRYVILLE, LA (KPLC) - Authorities in Beauregard Parish arrested a Merryville woman on Saturday evening for aggravated assault after she allegedly fired a shotgun in the direction of two people.

Authorities arrested 56-year-old Nina Broussard and charged her with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm after she fired a shotgun in the direction of a mother and daughter.

The mother and daughter were reportedly operating a jet ski on the waterway behind Broussard's residence.

The shots were allegedly fired over the heads of the mother and daughter because they were speeding and they were not wearing life vests.

No one was injured during the incident.

Broussard was placed in the Beauregard Parish Jail and was later released on a $10,000 bond.
