First-year Hornets coach has a new son

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Hornets first-year head coach Monty Williams has a new member of the family.

Hornets officials say Williams' wife, Ingrid, gave birth to a son late Thursday night.

Micah Andrew Williams was 7.8 pounds, 20 inches at birth. He is the couple's fifth child. Williams also has three daughters, 12-year-old Lael, 10-year-old Faith and 8-year-old Janna, along with a 2-year-old son, Elijah.

The birth took place less than 24 hours before the Hornets' summer league squad was to open play against Golden State in Las Vegas on Friday. Williams flew back to New Orleans to welcome his new son and team spokesman Dennis Rogers says the coach was expected to head back to Las Vegas soon.
