LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Downtown Development Authority said more projects are about to begin. Tuesday night, the DDA held a meeting to discuss the new city renovations.

The Lakefront Promenade is set to open around August or September, but the Downtown Development Authority said there is much more to come.

"We're going to be talking about the schedule of bids, and advertisements. We encourage your local contractors to come in, and look at the plans, and get ready to bid when they are advertised. The whole purpose for this project is to encourage economic development, to set the stage, or the envelope for the development that the city council will be talking about on Wednesday night. It's all coming together in one big mix, these days," said DDA Director, Lori Marinovich.
