Multiple reports of slashed tires at apartment complexes

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Some residents at Cypress Apartments and Emerald Point Apartments woke up on Monday morning to an unpleasant surprise.

The tires on between twenty-five to thirty vehicles at the two complexes were slashed sometime early Monday morning.

The vandals cut tires on at least six vehicles at Emerald Point and at least eighteen across the street at Cypress Apartments.

The reports started coming in early this morning.

Around 11:00 a.m., a kitchen knife was discovered at Cypress Apartments. Authorities came to retrieve it as part of the investigation. Meanwhile, residents are upset at the inconvenience and the cost of repairing or replacing the tires.

Management at Cypress is providing tenants whose tires were slashed with fifty dollars credit on their rent. The manager says they will give a months free rent to anyone whose information leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
