DeQuincy man arrested on sexual battery, molestation charges

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A man arrested in Beauregard Parish on June 3 for molestation of a juvenile and sexual battery was arrested on June 23 for similar charges in Calcasieu Parish.

Danny Burge, 70, from DeQuincy was arrested in Vernon Parish on Wednesday and was transported to Calcasieu Correctional Center. He has been charged with 25 counts of sexual battery and 25 counts of molestation of a juvenile.

Burge's bond was set at $2.5 million.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was notified by the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office after an investigation there revealed Burge had alleged inappropriate contact with a 12-year-old girl, who is now 16 years old, in Calcasieu Parish on at least 25 different occasions.

Burge had been released on a $100,000 bond in Beauregard Parish.
