Lake Charles firefighters work a fire at Athlete's Corner on Sale St

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Around 3:30, Lake Charles firefighters responded to a call about a fire at the Athletes Corner on Sale St.

Firefighters say the fire was contained to only two small warehouses behind the business and it took them about 30 minutes to put it out.

It's unknown at this time how much equipment was damaged and what started the blaze.

    The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office says a barbecue pit started a fire near the First Apostolic Church in Moss Bluff late Thursday, Jan.18.     Fields, Starks and Merryville are without water following a system failure in the Fields area, officials with Waterworks District 2 said. Once water is restored, a precautionary boil advisory will be in place.
