Train Crash in southeastern Louisiana kills 4

NDEPENDENCE, La. (AP) - Four people were killed when an Amtrak train collided with a van in southeastern Louisiana.

Authorities say Amtrak's "City of New Orleans" en route to New Orleans from Chicago on Friday, hit the vehicle at a crossing north of Independence around 1:30 p.m.

Tangipahoa Parish Chief Sheriff's Deputy Dennis Pevey says the cause of the crash is under investigation. No one on the train was injured.
