Buddy Caldwell to investigate BP

By Shawn Herndon – sherndon@kplctv.com

BELLE CHASE, LA (KPLC) - A judge has authorized Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell's petition to investigate BP

The investigation will look into what caused the spill and how it has impacted our state.

Part of the investigation also alleges that BP has failed to cooperate and share important information with the state, specifically information requested repeatedly by the Louisiana Workforce Commission and the Louisiana Department of Social Services regarding all claims data collected by ESIS, the third party administrator for claims, and for information about workers hired by BP.

BP has 10 days to object to the petition, after which Caldwell's office can begin their investigation.
