Motorcyclist dies in Beauregard Parish crash

DERIDDER, LA (KPLC) - One man is behind bars in Beauregard Parish after a DeRidder man died on Wednesday night in a crash while driving his motorcycle.

According to Louisiana State Police, troopers responded to the crash scene on Louisiana Highway 112 east of US Highway 171 around 7:25 p.m.

41-year-old William Rollins of DeRidder was driving his motorcycle when he was involved in a crash with a car driven by 58-year-old Jessie Calhoun of DeRidder.

Rollins was transported to Beauregard Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  He was wearing a helmet when driving.

Calhoun was not injured in the crash. LSP has charged him with improper left turn, DWI, and vehicular homicide. He was booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash is still under investigation.

    State Police captured Antonio Henderson, 23, along I-10 in Lake Charles around 9:37 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, said Sgt. James Anderson, Troop D spokesman.
