LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The Bucs have won three championships in a row.
So despite having a 4-4 record so far in 2010, the Swashbucklers still have plenty of confidence.
Their next showdown is against the Lafayette Wildcatters, a team the Bucs lost to back on May 1st. It was one of the toughest losses the Bucs have had in a very long time, losing 59-52 in overtime.
Louisiana knows this rematch could be huge for more than one reason. Not only do they want revenge on the Wildcatters, they know a victory could potentially help them get a home playoff game in the first round.
That being said, the Bucs defensive tackle John Paul Jones says this is just another chance to get another victory.
"It's always another game for the Swashbucklers," Jones said. "Everybody in this league has something to prove to us. We don't have anything to prove to anybody. We're the champions. The championship is going to run through here. We're the champions until somebody dethrones us. Lafayette played us tough last time. We're definitely looking forward to getting out there and getting a little payback."
The Bucs and Wildcatters will play in Lafayette on Saturday, June 5th. Kickoff is at 7pm.
