Tigers heading to California

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -  LSU will head west to California for their first round NCAA baseball regional.

The Tigers will be the #2 seed in the UCLA regional.  The Bruins are the top seed, followed by LSU, then UC Irvine as the #3 seed, and Kent State as the #4 seed.

Three other teams of local interest made the tournament.

The UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns will play their regional in Texas.  The Texas Longhorns are the top seed in that regional.  Rice is the #2 seed, followed by the Cajuns as the #3 seed, and Rider as the #4 seed.

Grambling also made the field.  They will play in the regional hosted by Arkansas.  The Razorbacks are the #1 seed, Washington State is the #2 seed, Kansas State is the #3 seed, and Grambling is the #4 seed.

As for the Southland Conference, the winner of their tournament was Lamar.  The Cardinals will play at TCU's regional.  TCU is the top seed there, followed by #2 Baylor.  Arizona is the #3 seed, and the Cardinals are the #4 seed.

The NCAA baseball tournament begins play on Friday, June 4th.
