Texas man arrested in Beauregard Parish after police chase

DERIDDER, LA (KPLC) - A Texas man was arrested Monday evening in Beauregard Parish after a pursuit ended west of DeRidder.

The police pursuit started in Allen Parish and ended west of DeRidder. 71-year-old Joe Darrold Hinton of Crypress, Texas was the suspect in a disturbance at a residence in Elton on Monday evening.

Hinton led officers from Allen Parish, LSP, the DeRidder Police Department and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office on a chase down Highway 26 to Highway 171 through DeRidder until he eventually was stopped on Highway 190 west near the Boise Mill.

Hinton was arrested and has been charged with reckless operation, speeding, resisting an officer, and aggravated flight from an officer.

He was processed into the Beauregard Parish Jail with a detainer for Allen Parish. No bond has been set for Hinton at this time.
