Bake sale held for LeBleu Family

RAGLEY, LA (KPLC-TV) – The community outpouring of support continued for the LeBleu Family, who lost four children in a house fire, with a bake sale fundraiser today at the Ragley baseball fields during a little league baseball tournament.

This comes after members of the community raised $19,000 for the family during a car wash and bake sale on Friday.

Rebecca Manuel was one of the organizers of the bake sale. Manuel said mothers of local little league baseball players baked the cookies and cupcakes they sold on Saturday. Manuel said proceeds of the bake sales were originally going to benefit a mission trip for a local church. But Manuel said after hearing about the LeBleu family tragedy, organizers agreed the best thing to do was to donate the proceeds to the family.

"It's very encouraging to see that there [is] still good in this world and people will come together to help out a family in need."

Funeral arrangements for the four LeBleu children have been made. Visitation will start Sunday at the White Oaks Memorial Chapel in Oakdale. Visitation hours will be from 3 p.m. to 10p.m. Visitation continues on Monday at the First Baptist Church at 9 a.m. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m.

The community of Ragley is also planning other events which will benefit the family, including an "Incrediball Tourney," which is scheduled for June 19th at the Ragley baseball fields.
