Lake Charles man arrested after pot found in home

The following is a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Lake Charles, LA – On May 10, detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) went to a house on Esplanade Street in Lake Charles after receiving an anonymous narcotic complaint.  Detectives received permission from the residents to search the house.

During the search, detectives recovered a glass smoking device, a metal grinder which can be used to grind marijuana, and a prescription bottle containing marijuana in the bedroom of Ioannin J. Olympiou, 34.  Detectives also recovered a plastic baggie containing marijuana hidden in the wall in the bathroom. Olympiou stated the items found in his room and the marijuana belonged to him.

Olympiou was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession of marijuana 2nd offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge Wilford Carter set his bond at $1,500.
