AG's office says principal cleared in paddling case

JENNINGS, LA (KPLC) - After an investigation, the Attorney General's office has ruled that there was "no provable criminal act" in reference to a spanking incident involving a third grade student at Jennings Elementary.

Back in March, the principal at Jennings Elementary School was accused of paddling a student too hard.

Kieran Coleman was under investigation after a student's mother filed a police complaint and provided photographs that allegedly showed bruises from where the child was paddled.

The investigation was handed over to the state Attorney General's office. After conducting a thorough investigation which included reviewing all of the police reports and conducting numerous interviews, the office ruled that Dr. Coleman's actions did not "rise to the level of criminal conduct."
