LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Will one of these three teams bring home a high school baseball state championship to southwest Louisiana?

The Barbe Buccaneers, St. Louis Saints, and Sam Houston Broncos have all made the LHSAA state tournaments.

Barbe has won five baseball state championships.  They are three wins away from getting their sixth.   Their first game in the 5A state tournament will be on Friday, May 14th.  They will play Central, B.R. at 1pm.  If they are victorious, then the Bucs will play the winner of the Lafayette/Acadiana game on Saturday, May 15th at 11am.  The winner of that game will play for the state title later that night at 7pm.  All of these games will be played in New Orleans.

There is a chance both St. Louis and Sam Houston will play each other for the Class 4A state championship.  That would happen if both teams win their semi-final games.  The Saints will play Belle Chasse on Friday, May 14th at 4pm.  That game will be immediately followed by the Sam Houston/Teurlings game at 7pm.  The winners of those matchups will then play each other in the 4A state title game on Saturday, May 15th at 7pm.  These matchups will take place in Ruston.

7Sports will have coverage of the state tournaments on 7News.
