Broken Water Main in Lake Chares - KPLC 7 News, Lake Charles, Louisiana

Broken Water Main in Lake Chares

UPDATE: A temporary fix has been put in place that should have water returned in the area shortly. Efforts for a permanent fix will begin on Monday.

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - A major water line has broken in Lake Charles somewhere in the area of Mill and Ryan Streets.

City Administrator John Cardone says that the break happened sometime early this morning.

They don't know yet what caused the break or when it'll be fixed.

Low water pressure has already caused some residents living in Chateau De Lac on Mill Street to be without water, and Cardone says that other residents in the area could have their water turned off in order to fix the line.

Workers will be going door to door in the area to inform residents if they should expect their water to be turned off.
