VINTON, LA (KPLC) - Vinton Police have arrested a Starks woman after she allegedly committed three recent home robberies in the Vinton area.

Chrystal Gore of Starks was arrested Tuesday for forgery, theft, unauthorized use of an access credit card, and possession of cocaine.

According to police, Gore's most recent home robbery happened Tuesday morning at Barbara Courville's home on West Street in Vinton.

Gore allegedly approached Courville and asked if she could come in to use the bathroom.

"I had seen her around the neighborhood and I thought she was a nice lady," said Courville.

But within that time, the police said Gore got away with Courville's wallet and checkbook, then made her way to the Dollar General Store just down the street where she would spend almost 100 dollars.

"The cashier she noticed the picture ID in my wallet did not look like the girl purchasing the items," said Courville.

Police shortly arrived and then took her into custody.

According to police, Gore's criminal history with the Vinton Police Department started back in 2005 and since then she has been arrested 34 times by the police in Vinton.

"She's an individual that will take advantage of anything she can of yours," said Chief Ricky Fox of the Vinton Police Department.

Vinton Police urge everyone to stay on guard even though the latest culprit has been caught.

"If she bonds out she may very well come and knock on your door," said Fox. "Don't let her anywhere near your property because when she leaves some of your property is going to leave."

Chrystal Gore remains in the Calcasieu Correctional Center where her bond is set at $115,000.

It was another day of political gridlock on Capitol Hill as members of the Senate made another push to repeal and replace Obamacare. Republican senators are drafting a proposal which likely won't include any replacement ideas but a "Skinny repeal" that would take out unpopular parts of the Affordable Care Act. Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy explained today how the repeal would impact Americans.

For years we've heard about the need for a new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge. There is a time line and an upcoming public meeting is part of the process of determining what will happen and when. Though the discussion is usually about a new I-10 bridge, the proposed project includes improvements between I-10 and 210 interchanges. The bridge has safety issues because of how steep it is, congestion,  no shoulders and short entrance ramps that don't meet today's design ...
