LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The losing streak has ended.

The LSU Tigers defeated another Southland Conference team.  This time it was the Southeastern Louisiana Lions.  9-5 was the final score.

Southeastern stuck around with the Tigers all the way up until the sixth inning.  It was tied at five going into the bottom of the sixth.  That's when LSU's Blake Dean took matters into his own hands.  He hit a two-run bomb to give the Tigers the lead for good.

Paul Mainieri's squad came into this game on a seven-game losing streak.  That streak was made up with three losses to Ole Miss, three losses to Florida, and one loss to the University of New Orleans.

The Tigers will now welcome Vanderbilt to Baton Rouge in their next series.  The three games will be played May 7th-9th.
