CPSO arrests man for sexual battery and rape

UPDATE: All charges were dropped on April 25, 2016.

The following is a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office:

Lake Charles, LA – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Michael Shane Crumpler, 33, of Orange, TX, and charged him with 4 counts sexual battery and 2 counts of aggravated rape.  He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on Thursday.

The investigation revealed Crumpler inappropriately touched and performed inappropriate sexual acts on two girls who were 5 and 6 years old at the time the incidents began.  The incidents happened between February 2004 and September 2008 in Calcasieu Parish.

Judge Robert Wyatt set Crumpler's bond at $200,000.  He has since bonded out of jail.

CPSO Detective Michael Primeaux is the lead investigator on this case.
