Funeral arrangements set for Cameron Parish police jury president

CAMERON PARISH, LA (KPLC) - Funeral arrangement have been set as Cameron Parish residents are mourning the loss of police jury president Steve Racca.

Racca passed away earlier this week. He was elected to the police jury in 2007, and was the long-time vocational agriculture teacher at Hackberry High School before he retired from there.

Fellow jurors tell KPLC that he was also a founding member of the Marshland Festival, which helps raise money for the youth of Hackberry.

Funeral arrangements have been set, and visitation will be held on Friday, April 23 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The funeral is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
