LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - For the second year in a row, the McNeese State softball team has defeated the LSU Tigers.

McNeese beat #16 LSU, 3-0 in Baton Rouge.

Molly Guidry had the big hit for MSU very early on.  Her two-run homer in the top of the first inning set the tone for McNeese State (25-23 OVR).  Whitney Corbello also had an RBI single to bring in MSU's third run.  Claire Terracina also had two hits for McNeese.

Freshman starting pitcher Meagan Bond threw a four-hit shutout with three strikeouts.

This Cowgirl victory also snapped a 25-game home winning streak for the Tigers.  It's also the first time in fourteen tries McNeese has defeated LSU in Baton Rouge.

Next up for McNeese is a three-game series on the road against UT-Arlington.  Those games will be played on April 24th and 25th.
