LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - The late Brigadier General Leonard E. Pauley, Sr. whom served 28 years in the Louisiana National Guard was inducted Friday evening.  Hundreds of family, friends and military personnel came to the event to honor his services and remember his legacy.

He was born in Neame, LA on December 16, 1912 and moved to Lake Charles soon thereafter.  He married the former Rosemary Kuttner and they had two sons: Leonard E. "Pete" Pauley, Jr. and James Charles "Jim" Pauley.

Both sons say their dad was one of a kind and that he is truly deserving of this honor.

General Pauley, Sr. served from 1940 to 1968 and just before he was called to duty, he worked for the American Press for 5 years.
