Police say drunk driver caused I-10 accident

LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - Louisiana State Police confirm that an apparent drunk driver caused a two car accident on I-10 westbound near mile marker 25 Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 10:15 a.m. when a car traveling westbound on I-10 driven by 55-year-old John Villory of Lake Charles struck the rear of another car traveling in the same direction.

After impact, Villory's vehicle traveled into the median and overturned, causing a passenger to be ejected from the car.

The passenger in Villory's vehicle and the driver of the car he struck were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

While on the scene, State Troopers determined that Villory was impaired while driving, and he was arrested for driving while intoxicated, careless operation, and two counts of vehicular negligent injury.
