Ducks still available to adopt for CMN Duck Race

There is still time to adopt ducks for the Children's Miracle Network Duck Race, presented by Cameron State Bank on April 18.  Festivities begin at 12:00 noon at the Prien Lake Park. The ducks will be released into the water at 2:00 p.m.  Duck adoptions are $5 each and can be purchased online at www.duckrace.com/lakecharles  or by visiting a Cameron State Bank location.

The first 8 ducks to cross the finish line will "waddle" away with the following fabulous prizes:

  • Grand prize - Dinner$ and Buck$ on the Duck - 12 months of Dining Gift Cards for a family of 4, plus additional Gift Cards for a Shopping Spree (valued over $3,500).
  • $2,010.00 cash donated by Coushatta Casino Resort.
  • Senior Session or Individual Photography Package courtesy of Action Sports Photo.
  • 42" Flat Screen Television courtesy of Best Buy.
  • Family Fun getaway for Four courtesy of L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort.
  • One year fitness membership for a family of Four courtesy of GiGi's Fitness Center of CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital.

    Two people were killed in a car crash this evening shortly after 8 p.m. according to Master Trooper Brooks David, with Louisiana State Police Troop I. The crash happened on Highway 91 near Highway 100. One person died at the scene and the other was taken to a hospital where they died shortly after arrival, David said.
