DE RIDDER, LA (KPLC-TV) - A DeRidder mother accused of not telling police about severe abuse her toddler son sustained, which ultimately lead to the 18-month-old's death, was in court for a pre-trial hearing Friday.
Holly Brewer is charged with accessory after the fact to second degree child cruelty.
Brewer was expected to enter a plea on Friday, but that did not happen.
Prosecutors said Brewer's trial will still go forward Monday, April 19th.
Prosecutors say Brewer's live-in boyfriend, Jeffery Denby, beat the toddler to death after he knocked over their infant baby's bassinet.
The toddler suffered severe head trauma and died last year.
Denby is being charged with first degree murder. His murder trial is scheduled to get underway May 17th in DeRidder.
