LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) - There is talk of change in the way students get their school lunch in Calcasieu Parish. Parents and school cafeteria workers are not happy. The Calcasieu paish school board is saying nothing has been made official. They say it has not even come up in a school board meeting, but according to the American Press, assistant superintendent, Gary Anderson is quoted as saying, "There's rumors students will be brown-bagging it next year, and that's just not true. The company we're looking at will be back next week to continue discussions."
A Facebook page has been set up for people who are opposed to a change in the way their children get school lunches. 7 News tried to speak with the school board about this matter, and they declined to comment.
