Bossier lands 2012 Bassmaster Classic

From The Times of Shreveport, LA:

With a lure of record crowds, Northwest Louisiana has landed the 2012 Bassmaster Classic.

BASS vice president and general manager Tom Ricks says the group will be partnering again with the Shreveport Regional Sports Authority, which helped put on the 2009 Classic.

Last year's Classic attracted 137,700 visitors, obliterating the previous record of 82,600, set in New Orleans in 2003. The attendance at the 2009 Bassmaster Classic Expo was 60,123 - far exceeding the previous one-day high of 19,151 from 2003.

The official announcement was to be made Thursday at the 2010 Classic in Birmingham, Ala. Next year's will be in New Orleans.
